Artist Statement

As an artist, I am charged with the duty of remaining curious about the world. I am an investigator of the character I am inhabiting, and I must learn everything I can to give this being a full life, beyond the words and actions on the page. On stage or screen, that time is just a sliver of this character's world. It is my job to dig deeper, and know the desires, fears, and intricacies of the soul that make up humankind. To do that, first I must ask myself these same questions. To know myself is to know how my experience can be of service to the life of my role, or how it is not. And so, I also remain curious about myself, as I forge a path with the character I am privileged to portray. Acting is non-judgmental. It is a freedom to explore, play, wonder, and change. My part serves a greater purpose, to tell a story to an audience that will give them the ability to have that freedom as well. As my career continues to expand into many different avenues, I will continue to push the boundaries that society and I have placed, in order to bring the most positive change I can as an individual. I will not forget the honor it is to be a vessel for sharing truthful stories to the world.
